DIY Healthy Carrot and Ginger Smoothie

So, you’re feeling healthy and interested in making the easiest carrot & ginger smoothie? Well, you’re definitely in the right place. This recipe is honestly one of the simplest smoothie recipes I have ever made and can be prepared and made in less than 15 minutes.

This is the perfect smoothie if you’re trying to prevent or fight off colds or just if you’re feeling really healthy and want a good health ‘kick’. There are so many benefits to all the fruits and veggies used in this recipe, but our star in this smoothie is Miss Ginger. She adds a little spice but brings a big array of health benefits that everyone should take advantage of.

Ginger can help prevent heart disease, indigestion, bacterial infections, diabetes and so much more. Remember, when using ginger in your recipes to keep in mind that “less is more” and “a little can go a long way”!

Now, onto the easiest carrot and ginger smoothie you will ever make. After you’ve made it once, you’ll be hooked and want to make it everyday.

You will need…

  • Carrots
  • Apples
  • Oranges
  • Ginger
  • Water

…that’s it, but you can add any other fruits! I didn’t have a mango, but if I did I would’ve totally added it.

(To be completely honest, I don’t measure.. I just add as much or as little as I think works. Be careful with the ginger though. Start with a small amount and gradually keep adding more until it satisfies your taste)

Obviously start by washing your fruit and veggies. Next, take your carrots and start peeling them and cut off each end. If you want you can cut them into small chunks and then put them in the blender. I suggest using a cheese grater to grate the carrots, because it will be easier on the blender and make the process much faster.

Once you’ve got the carrots grated, put them in the blender. I had three apples and then cut them into small chunks. Essentially, you want all the fruit and veggies to already be in small chunks/slices/pieces, so you don’t have to spend more time then needed using the blender. We want to be as efficient as possible!

Place the apples into blender and begin peeling the oranges. I used 2 oranges for this recipe. Super easy right?

After you’re done with the oranges, next comes the ginger. I like mine to have a kick and be really spicy, so I added a lot of ginger. I started off with a little, and continued to add more and more until it was perfect!

Love the cutting board? It’s my grandma’s haha! Once all my fruits and veggies were in the blender, I added water and blended away. If you’re looking for a sweeter taste, then I suggest you add some orange juice or mango juice.

If you want your delicious, healthy smoothie to be thinner just keep adding liquids. If you want it thicker, add more carrots or apples. If you’re into bananas, you could toss one in too, to help make the consistency thicker and the smoothie sweeter.

This smoothie doesn’t only look delicious, it tastes delicious too. A lot of people are going to be hesitant with using carrots in their smoothies, but don’t worry you’ll barely taste it because of the apples and oranges!

I hope you make this delicious carrot and ginger smoothie, and if you do ENJOY and tell me how you liked it in the comments below!

Dominick in your last theme you had a plugin that displayed three social media sharing icons on image hover. You’ve stopped using it now, but I just wanted to look into it. What was it called?
